The beginning of a tech sales career plan is the mastery of your process. The process includes the tech sales process. This means mastering each step in the process and using it to hit quota and target on a monthly basis. This means starting in local as an account executive and then moving up through the company as you master each level of the sales org.
The typical progression in a tech sales org is:
- Mid market
Each level in the sales org has a different base along with compensation schedule which means that the higher you go in the organization, the more money you will end up making. A key to a successful career is not only money, but work/life balance, benefits, culture, social and happiness. An example of this would bee experiencing flow at work with defined work hours and no overtime.
